Cello Lessons Suzuki Method
Developed by the Japanese violinist and educator Shinichi Suzuki, the philosophy behind the Suzuki method is that we learn to play an instrument as we learned our native language (the "mother tongue" method) - through listening, imitation, repetition and gameplay. In a learning environment that fosters respect and discipline, students learn, not only, how to play their instrument, but they also develop aural skils, improve their memory, cultivate concentration, and enhance their self-esteem.
The curriculum includes a combination of weekly private lessons and semi-weekly group seminars. Parents must be in the lessons. While the recommended starting age is 3 years old, younger children that have a developed fine motor skills can also start taking lessons. It should be noted that the Suzuki Method is designed so that children can learn at their own pace and is not exclusive to a particular age group.
